2015 Gibson Custom Shop ES-335TDC '63 RI Lefty
An incredibly hard-to-find left-handed Gibson Custom Shop ES-335TDC '63 Re-Issue, in cherry red with VOS finish. If you're a lefty player, there's a good chance that you've never played a "real' ES-335 and you've always wanted to. We've sold a great many lefty electrics over the years, but lefty ES-335s don't come around very often.
This guitar is amazing. From the neck carve to the weight and balance, and finished off with unpotted Gibson MHS (Memphis Historic Spec) humbuckers this 335 has got it all going on. The guitar tips the scales at a scant 7-3/4 lbs and has an acoustic resonance that's admittedly kind of shocking for a semi-hollow guitar. That tone comes through the pickups and puts out some serious expressiveness and touch-sensitivity when plugged in. The unpotted pickups are built with Alnico III (neck) and II (bridge) for seriously accurate 50's PAF tone, so you can expect the most dynamic, open, and balanced humbucker tone imaginable.
The guitar is in near-perfect condition and without any noticeable blemishes. Frets show no wear, and the set-up was done here at Folkway... by a lefty.
Nut width of 1-11/16”, 24.75” scale, 1963 neck carve (low C), steep headstock angle with early 60's spec headstock shape and Kluson tuners. Bound rosewood fingerboard with pearloid block inlays and tortoise-celluloid side-markers. MHS humbuckers, early style no-spring Tune-O-Matic bridge with nylon saddles, aluminum bridge. Nickel hardware with VOS aging treatment, black plastic, and VOS Cherry finish with very slight aged appearance.
With original hardshell case and original COA.
