2011 Gibson J-185
A wonderful guitar, this 2011 Gibson J-185 features a small-jumbo body with 16” wide lower bout, maple back and sides and spruce top with scalloped bracing. Finished in a chocolaty tobacco sunburst and accentuated with 50s style pickguard, pearl inlays and white purflings, it’s a great looking instrument.
With a tone somewhere between a J-200 and J-45, the J-185 is famous for its balance and presence through the mids. This one has a lovely warmth and the slight compression maple is famous for, making it a guitar that’s a great strummer and vocal-back-up machine.
It’s in excellent condition and has been fitted with a Fishman Ellipse Aura pickup system. Set up in shop with an action of 5-6 64ths. Low C neck carve with a nut width of 1-11/16”, 24.75” scale and 2-1/8” string spread at the bridge.
