1977 Fender Stratocaster Hardtail

Here’s a hardtail ash body Fender Stratocaster from 1977. It’s a good looking guitar with a classic late 70’s esthetic, natural finish, and black plastic. The bridge pickup has been replaced with a rail-magnet humbucker, but the guitar is otherwise largely fairly straight, including frets, finish, nut, and case. The volume pot, switch and a few connector wires have been replaced, and the cavities have been foil-tape shielded.

The guitar weighs in at 8.3 lbs and is well set up. The frets show some wear but play fairly cleanly. Pots are dated late 1976. The finish has aged attractively, and there is nice patina to the body, neck, and headstock. The F-tuners may or may not be original to the guitar – there is evidence that other tuners were once on the headstock and conversion bushings have been installed.

All told this is a great player’s Strat that’s already been rocking for about 43 years.
