2017 Martin 000-30 Authentic 1919

Martin's Style 30 was built in very small numbers from the mid 1800s until the late 1910' and received its model designation thanks to its $30 price tag back in the 1850s.* Martin's 000-30 Authentic 1919 recreates the tastefully adorned style 30 in a 000-size instrument with a 25.4” scale and modern T frets.

A delightfully lightly built guitar with ¼” scalloped braces, small maple bridge plate, pyramid bridge, VTS red spruce top and Madagascar rosewood back and sides, the 000-30 Authentic 1919 is a highly responsive, resonant, and complex 12 fret fingerstyle guitar. It has a wonderful blend of sweet overtones, and focused fundamental, warm and well-developed basses, and trebles that are nicely rounded and full. With a tonal pallet that's this full, the only thing the 000-30 leaves a player wanting for is more time to enjoy it.

Style 30 trimmings include grained ivoroid bindings with fine rosewood and maple purflings, multi-colored top border and back strip; pearl, celluloid, rosewood and maple rosette; and pearl snowflakes and diamonds in the fingerboard. It's both simple and beautiful, with a touch of tasteful luxury.

Like all Authentics, the 000-30 is constructed with a hand-fit dovetail neck joint, hot hide glue, and a vintage gloss finish. The nut and glued-in saddle are bone, and the neck is built without a truss rod. The neck is carved into a softened V shape with a low to medium depth and features a nut width of 1-7/8”. The bridge pin spacing is 2-3/8”.

This gently used guitar was originally sold new through Folkway. It is in nearly perfect condition save for some quite minor belt dents on the back. We installed a K&K Trinity combination transducer/mic pickup system for its first owner, and the K&K two-channel preamp is included as well.

With deluxe Authentic hardshell case and vintage-style tags.
