Joe Yanuziello's instruments are always things of indescribable coolness, proving time and time again that he's one of this generation's most skilled and original luthiers. His instruments are played by some of the most respected guitarists around, including Bill Frissell and Kevin Breit, to name a couple.
The left-handed Viceroy offered here features a hollowed mahogany body, a heavily figured maple top with stunning sunburst finish, rosewood fingerboard and knobs, and tortoise-celluloid appointments throughout. Joe custom machines and nickel-plates his own hardware and his single-coil pickups are custom wound by Lindy Frailin in the style of those late-50’s DeArmonds that make Harmony Stratotones sound as good as they do.
Overall, the guitar offers a dreamy lefty playing experience. The instrument is feather-weight (5lbs 11oz) and highly resonant. With a first fret depth of 0.875", twelfth fret depth of 0.98," a 1-5/8" nut width, and a round carve, the neck is a hybrid between '50s Gibson and Fender neck profiles.
In near-mint condition, the instrument shows only light playwear to its frets and minor arm-wear to the top's finish. A custom tortoise celluloid output jack plate was made in our shop to correct minor impact damage at the jack. Beautifully set-up in our shop, the guitar is simply a delight to play.
With original custom hardshell case.
