Gibson’s 1960 Hummingbird reissue is part of the company's Historic Collection and features vintage appointments, a torrefied Sitka top, thin VOS Nitrocellulose lacquer finish, scalloped bracing, bone nut and saddle, and 60’s style Gotoh tuning machines. It was designed to offer Hummingbird buyers a guitar steeped in vintage pedigree, assembled with modern methods to ensure the best in playability, feel and tone.
This one-year-old guitar has just arrived at Folkway and is in excellent condition. Playwear is minimal – just a hint of fretwear in the first position and a single dent on the edge of the soundhole – and presents as-new. The 1960 Hummingbird Reissue is a particularly great-sounding modern Gibson that offers a warm and powerful voice with strong lows, supportive mids, rounded trebles, and rich overtone content. String balance is excellent, and the guitar delivers defined note separation.
Mahogany back and sides, Sitka top with X bracing and a hand-painted Hummingbird pickguard. The one-piece mahogany neck features a bound rosewood fretboard with split mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays, a 17 degree headstock angle, and a traditional compound dovetail neck joint.
Scale length of 24.75", nut width of 1-11/16", 1st fret depth of 0.868", and 12th fret depth of 0.954". Weight of 4lbs 5oz.
With original hardshell case.
