With a tone that bridges mahogany and maple, lacewood has a woody voice and a hint of compression, which makes it a wonderful wood choice for a fingerstyle guitar like Larrivée’s venerable L-09. Beyond that, it looks incredibly cool. Quartersawn lacewood has an amazing quarterflower pattern that’s quite stunning, and this L-09 was built with some seriously quartersawn wood!
Sitka spruce top, mahogany neck with bound ebony fingerboard, 1-3/4” nutwidth, .779” 1st fret neck depth 25.5” scale. Gloss finish, maple bindings, and tortoise pickguard. A pickup was once installed but has since been removed.
The guitar is in excellent condition and has been carefully set up here at Folkway. One small top crack at the bass-side waist has been glued, no other repairs, or issues.
With original hardshell case.
