2007 Santa Cruz OM/PW
An excellent OM steeped in vintage pedigree, Santa Cruz's OM Pre-War model is heavily inspired by the Style 21 guitars of the early 1930s. Built with Indian rosewood back and sides, a Sitka spruce top with forward-shifted X-bracing, an ebony bridge and fingerboard, herringbone rosette and black binding, the OM/PW offers timeless aesthetic and vintage-voiced tone, making it an excellent tribute to the Style 21 guitars built in Nazareth's golden era.
An excellent-sounding OM that has opened up beautifully over the last two decades, this 2007 OM/PW offers a warm and balanced response with a surprising amount of headroom for a guitar of its stature. Its voice is full and rich, and can envelope a room when played with a medium right hand attack. A versatile flat-top, this OM handles both flat-picking and fingerstyle very well. It's a wonderfully dynamic and touch sensitive instrument that can be intimate and inviting, or bold and powerful when played with a controlled right hand.
Having clearly been cared for properly over the past twenty years, this Santa Cruz OM remains crack-free and in excellent structural condition. The neck angle is excellent and there is plenty of saddle left. Light wear across the first six frets does not impact the instrument's performance. Areas of minor finish delamination can be found on the neck along the fingerboard seam, as well as along the bindings and purflings on the body. Playwear in the form of light scratches and dents can be found throughout the finish. Pick wear throughout the pickguard speaks to a job well done on behalf of the vintage-style celluloid pickguard.
Scale length of 24.5". First fret depth of 0.855 ", ninth fret depth of 0.957", and a nut width of 1-3/4". Weight of 3lbs 8oz.
