The last Brazilian rosewood D-28's left the factory in late 1969, some 11500 guitars after this early 1969 model was finished.  Today, as you most likely well know, the instruments built prior to a certain D-21 numbered 254498, are prized for their tone and looks; and command premium prices on the vintage guitar market as compared to their Indian rosewood counterparts.  The D-28 pictured here was built with very attractive straight-grained old-growth Brazilian, and a Sitka top.  The guitar doesn't look its age, and at 38 years old shows no signs of growing old.  It's completely crack free, and has nearly perfect finish.  It has been professionally neck-setted and set up, and plays very nicely as well.  It has a very well made repro pickguard, newer nut and saddle, and a small bridge plate patch, but is otherwise completely original.  We've got the action set at 5 to 7 64ths with medium strings.  There is a lot of room on the saddle to bring the action down, should you desire.
