Martin made a batch of 25 of these instruments in 1980, some 26 years prior to the introduction of the HD-28V production model.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\r\n\r\nThis example is in wonderful condition and is entirely original but for a new bone saddle that we installed after completing the guitar’s neck reset within the last few weeks. No cracks, no repairs, and original finish throughout.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\r\n\r\nIt’s an exceptional sounding and fairly dark guitar, with huge bass presence, great volume and strong mids and highs. There’s a lot of vintage going on in the tone of this one.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\r\n\r\nSitka top with scalloped braces, Indian rosewood back and sides. Ebony fingerboard and bridge, diamonds and squares inlays. Gloss lacquer finish, chrome tuners. V-shaped neck with 1-11\/16” width at the nut, 2-1\/8” string spread at the bridge, 25.4” scale.
