It's a one-of-a-kind ACME bass, built for New York  Musican\/Producer Eli Janney, and was used throughout the 1990's on tour with Janney's band Girls Against Boys.  It has a palm-tree motif (think National Style O) etched on to the galvanized tin top, an MDF back and wooden sides.  The whole thing is held together by 7 bolts through the body.  There are all kinds of machined aluminum parts on - and in - it, from the wing headstock thing, to fingerboard \"dots\", and the overall effect is that of a second year art-school-meets-industrial-design project.  It's fitted with EMG Select pickups, Schaller tuners, and a broken truss-rod.  It plays, albeit slightly difficultly, and sounds good.
