chris-lounsbury-dreadnought-1354
Chris Lounsbury Dreadnought
Chris Lounsbury is a young but masterful luthier hailing from Hamilton, Ontario. His training was with Sergei DeJonge, but we suspect it not long before he's skills match or surpass those of his teacher or most any other guitar builder. His eye for detail is uncanny, his workmanship is of the highest caliber, and his instruments are both works of art and tonally inspired.

This Dreadnought is his fourth guitar, but you'd not know that looking at it. The fit and finish are exquisite, fretwork and set up are factory-perfect, and his tonewoods are of the highest quality. Most amazing is Lounsbury's French polish finish. It's uncanny. Some builders spend a lifetime of practicing to achieve results almost this good.

Indian rosewood back and sides, Sitka spruce top with Symmetrical tapered bracing, rosewood bindings, and mitered red and maple purflings. Herringbone rosette, with matching red purflings, Tortis pickguard. Mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard and bridge, bone nut and saddle; 25.4" scale length, 1-3/4" nutwidth. D-shaped neck profile, Gotoh tuners, ebony headstock overlay.

A modern sounding Dreadnought with a balanced string to string output and a lovely compliment of overtones, this guitar will appeal to players of all stripes. It's got chops to keep up with most any D-28, but actually makes a fine fingerstyle instrument as well. The bass is open but well defined, mids are forward sounding, and the trebles are surprisingly fat.

With double-arched TKL hardhshell case.

Click HERE to go to the Lounsbury Guitars website.
