2013 Bourgeois AT Mahogany

Bourgeois’ Aged Tone series guitars feature low-temperature-torrefied Adirondack spruce tops and a unique cyanoacrylic finish that's designed to simulate the tone imparted by the well-cured nitrocellulose lacquer on a vintage instrument. Assembled with hide glue, and hand voiced by Dana Bourgeois, the AT series guitars offer the quick attack, responsiveness, and broken-in tone of a much older guitar.

This 2013 example is a wonderful sounding mahogany dreadnought that has a plenty of warmth in the low range and strength in the trebles. It's a very lightly braced instruments, and has the richness and touch sensitivity that accompanies such a build. In beautiful condition and completely original, the guitar shows only a few very minor dings and only the slightest playwear.

Mahogany back and sides, Aged-Tone Adirondack red spruce top, Ziricote body bindings, wooden ring rosette, ebony fingerboard and bridge, and Madagascar rosewood headstock overlay. Hide glue construction, Waverly tuning machines, vintage-style tortoise-celluloid pickguard, fossil mammoth ivory nut, and bone saddle.

Comfortably rounded neck carve with the slightest hint of a V, 1-23/32" nut width, 25.5" scale. Set-up here at Folkway with light gauge strings and an action of 5-6 64ths.
