1936 Martin Style A Shadetop

The perfect companion to your mint-condition 30’s shaded-top Martin D-18. You have one of those, right?!

This Martin Style A was built in 1936, right around the time that the shaded-top first became a standard option. This example is in near-mint condition and in perfect playing order. We’ve never seen a nicer one, to be honest. Apart from a brace-end that was reglued in our shop, this mandolin is without repair or issue. It was recently set up in our shop as well. Crack free and 100% original, along with its original case.

Round neck carve, 1-3/16” nut, 13” scale. Style 18 appointments, mahogany back and sides, spruce top, ebony fingerboard, bridge, and nut. Clamshell tailpiece, inlaid celluloid pickguard.
