1966 Rickenbacker 450/12 Mapleglo
The Rickenbacker 450/12 was the company’s first solidbody electric 12 string and was introduced in 1964. With its Cresting Wave body, neck-through design, and natural finish over maple, the 450 12 string is one cool looking guitar. It’s a great sounding rock 12 string, and its small size, light weight, and slim neck make it really easy to play. Toaster pickups have got that classic knife-edge bridge tone and lots of jangle at the neck, and the guitar’s brass nut and steel bridge help add to the guitar’s incredible sustain and classic bright tone.
This guitar is completely original and in excellent condition. It’s been set-up here in shop and the action is low and fast. The neck has a very compact feel with a nut that’s 1-9/16” across, a rounded carve, and 24.5” scale, and the guitar’s lacquered fingerboard adds to the light feel when fretting.
Original finish throughout that shows little wear but for one spot up near the nut. Original electronics throughout, original tuners, nut, and plastic. Frets show average wear and play cleanly.
