1921 Gibson A-Jr
Here’s a great-sounding refinished Gibson A-Jr that will appeal to anyone who’s after a good-playing vintage-toned oval-hole mandolin for about the price of an Eastman MD805. Original frets are small but very level and play cleanly, action is comfortable, and the tone is woody and dark. Original hardware with the possible exception of the tuners; original hardshell case.
The instrument shows a few small cracks under the new finish, a reglued top brace and a few repaired seam separations. The top shape is quite near to its original carve with just a touch of sink on the bass side. The pearl Gibson headstock logo is non-original.
V-shaped neck with 1-3/16” nut and flat fingerboard.
With original hardshell case
