2013 Santa Cruz 00

The Santa Cruz 00 is a 12-fret rosewood and spruce grand concert that’s voiced for perfect balance and fingerstyle perfection. With its herringbone top trim, ebony pyramid bridge, and slotted headstock, the 00 is definitely steeped in vintage influence. It’s built lightly, with finely scalloped top braces, and offers a richly hued, open and articulate tone.

The Santa Cruz Guitar Company is all about the details, and their workmanship is second to none. It’s easy to marvel at the guitar’s mitred wooden purflings, celluloid and wood rosette, and thin lacquer finish. This is a gorgeous guitar, as lovely to hold and admire as it is to play.

Sitka spruce top with scalloped braces, Indian rosewood back and sides with zigzag backstrip and end graft. Ivoroid bindings throughout, ebony fingerboard with short-pattern diamonds and squares inlay, ebony bridge with compensated bone saddle and ebony pins. Rounded neck carve with V carved centreline, 1-3/4” nut, 24.75” scale, and 2-3/16” string spread at the bridge. Nickel Waverly tuners with ivoroid buttons.

In excellent condition, this 00 shows well-below average playwear to its finish and frets. There are a few isolated tiny dings, but nothing more. It’s been set-up here at Folkway with 12-53 strings and an action of 5-7 64ths, and there’s ample saddle height to lower the strings further at the buyer’s request.
