1966 Rickenbacker 450/12 Fireglo
The Rickenbacker 450/12 was the world’s first production solidbody electric 12 string when it was introduced in 1965, a year before this example was built. The model is identical to a standard 450 6 string but with a 12 string neck, and employed the same bridge, tailpiece, and electronics as the 6 string version.
This example features a gorgeous fireglo finish and is in great shape. There’s a little bit of playwear on the finish and frets, but nothing too significant, and the set-up is excellent. It’s 100% original, including all the electronics. One control knob *might* be replaced, or Ricky shipped it out with two “Treble Tone” knobs, which is entirely possible.
Pickup DC values are 7.1k and 7.4k; pots dated 1966. The neck thickness is .89” at the 1st fret and .91” at the 12th, the nut is 1-5/8” and scale is 24.7”. 7.5lbs.
With original hardshell case
