2022 Froggy Bottom H12 Limited Koa & Adirondack

For more details contact us at info@folkwaymusic.com or 855-772-0424.
An absolutely stunning Froggy Bottom H-12 Limited built with 5A-grade premium figured Koa, master-grade Adirondack red spruce, masterfully hand-engraved pearl inlays, and abalone top purflings, rosette, and back strip. The body is highlighted with maple bindings and intricately mitred black/white/black purflings – a theme that’s repeated on the headstock and in the rosette.

The pearl engraving work was done by Glenn Carson, who is widely considered to be among the best in his field. His old-world workmanship is inspiring to behold and is evocative of the golden age of pearl engraving in the late 1800s.

The H-12 is a 12 fret 000-sized instrument with slightly deeper sides that measure 4-3/16” from the endpin to the waist and then taper to 3-11/16 by the neck heel. The bracing is loosely Martin style, but exceptionally light, with a ¼” wide X brace that’s forward positioned with a wide angle and tapered profile. The bridgeplate is small, and there is a single scalloped tone bar supporting the lower bout. The top is clearly an excellent piece of spruce as there is no unwanted top deflection to speak of.

The mahogany neck is built with a 25” scale ebony fretboard and a 1-3/4” nut width. The carve is round and comfortable, with a medium depth of .827” at the first fret, and the strings taper to 2-5/16” at the bridge pins. A high-polished bone nut and a gorgeous set of engraved-button Waverly tuning machines bejewel the headstock. Ebony pyramid bridge with bone saddle and abalone-dot ebony pins.

An exceptional guitar that is immediately inspiring to play, this Froggy Bottom has a grand piano-like response, perfect string balance, beautifully supportive overtone development, and incredible headroom. It is shockingly good and impossible to put down.

In unused, AS-NEW condition and set up in our shop with 12-53 strings and an action of 5-6 64ths at the 12th fret.
