A custom-ordered Taylor, this 812c was built with a western red cedar top and without on-board electronics. We love a great sounding fingerstyle guitar, and the short-scale 14-fret 800 series Grand Concert 812c is all that and then some when the V-class bracing is paired with cedar and rosewood. It’s balanced and full, and offers a lovely bass end warmth that compliments the V-bracing’s mid-range fullness perfectly. And as much as we appreciate Taylor’s ES electronics, we know that having a choice of pickup system or the option to not have any pickup installed is something many of our clients have long appreciated.

The 812c is a masterfully built Grand Concert cut-away that is built with Indian rosewood and cedar and features a beveled arm contour, a pearl ring rosette, bound soundhole, and rosewood/maple/ebony purflings with maple binding. The variegated ebony fretboard is stunning, and is complimented perfectly with pearl inlays and maple/ebony bindings. Super-thin gloss finish to the binding and headstock face, silent satin neck finish, gloss smoke-black tuning machines.

The guitar features a soft Venetian cutaway body that measures 15” wide across the lower bout and 4-3/16” deep at the endpin. The scale is 24-7/8”, nut width is 1-3/4, and string spread at the bridge is 2-3/16”.
