The Rickenbacker 480 is a solidbody electric model that was offered between 1973 and 1983. It features a ‘Cresting Wave’ body style with dimensions akin to the company’s 4001 bass and a matching Cresting Wave headstock, a pair of Hi-Gain pickups, attractive Autumnglo finish, and maple body and bolt-on neck. This example is completely original but for one of the bridge height adjustment screws. It has been set up in our shop and plays well, with original frets that show light wear.
The neck has a deep C carve and very little taper, as like most Rickenbacker necks. The nut width measures 1-19/32” and the 1st fret depth is .904”. At the 12th fret the neck depth is .887”. The Hi-Gain pickups have DC values of 6.1 and 12.7k. 7lbs 15oz.
