1957 Martin D-21

Serial # 155923. Likely the finest D-21 we've ever offered for sale, this 1957 model is in remarkable condition. A cleanly repaired b-string pickguard crack is the instrument's only flaw; there are no other cracks and very little wear to the guitar's original lacquer finish. Cleanly done neck reset, new bone saddle, replacement vintage-correct Henkes and Blazer style 21 pins. Original tuners, nut, and frets. Gorgeous quartersawn rosewood back and sides, Sitka top, full thickness rosewood bridge.

A wonderful guitar, loud and clear, resonant and mature. Excellent sustain and overtones. 5-7 64ths set up, perfect playability with medium gauge strings. Typical mid-1950's neck profile, with a soft V carve that rounds out below the 5th fret to a compact and modern shape. 1-21/32" nut width.
