1937 Regal Dobro No. 25
If you're on the hunt for an affordable way to get going on Dobro or acoustic lap-style guitar, this Regal built Model 25 is a perfect choice. The guitar is a local, single-family owned instrument, completely original and in perfect working order. It's a round-neck version, with 14 frets clear of the body, but not usable as a 'Spanish' style guitar without resetting the neck first. It's currently set up with a riser-nut in open G, and sounds great with a slide.
The Model 25 was a budget instrument with very few frills. The birch body is bound with single white celluloid, and apart from the Regal headstock decal, there's no other ornamentation. Slotted headstock, Kluson plate tuners, pressed cone, no soundwell. That said, it's not much more expensive than a modern off-shore-built regal, and oh-so-much more cool.
With original chipboard case
