Collings OM1-JL Julian Lage Signature
For more details contact us at info@folkwaymusic.com or 855-772-0424.
Collings' Julian Lage Signature model is based on the company's OM1A-Traditional, but features a number of design considerations that are unique to this model. From the finish to the neck-carve the Julian Lage is unlike any other model in the Collings lineup.
Collings and Julian Lage set out to design a signature model together in 2014, and their discussions led to the creation of the Traditional series, which have become our most popular Collings models. The Lage takes the Traditional series a step further with a very thin and responsive satin lacquer finish, and a custom neck carve that is closely modeled after Julian's personal 1939 Martin 000-18, but extended to a longer 25.5” scale for more definition and power. Stylistically, the OM1-JL differs from other Collings models thanks to its unique vintage-Collings logo, which is a recreation of Bill Collings' original hand-cut logos use on early Collings guitars.
Mahogany back and sides, red spruce top with Custom Traditional-series scalloped bracing that emphasizes a strong fundamental and rounded highs. Tortoise-celluloid and wooden bindings and rosette, bevelled tortoise celluloid pickguard. Custom Satin Nitrocellulose lacquer finish. Ebony fingerboard with 14”-26” compound radius, one-piece mahogany neck. Relic nickel Waverly tuners, bone nut and compensated saddle. 1-11/16” nut width, 2-3/16” string spread at the saddle.
