David Ryer Concert Classical
David Ryer is a Canadian Luthier based near Ottawa, Ontario. He studied under Sergei de Jonge over a period of two years in the early 2000s and continues to build with an aesthetic that bears inspiration from de Jonge’s work, although his structural design has been constantly evolving. Ryer’s work is of the highest calibre, and his guitars are both sonic and visual masterpieces.
This Concert Classical features a Swiss Moon spruce double-top with a custom designed middle honey comb layer of Eastern white cedar. The body is ziricote with Spanish cedar laminated sides, red narra bindings, armrest, and rosette, and ziricote bridge and fingerboard. The finish is a masterfully applied French polish, and the neck features angle adjustability and raised fingerboard geometry. The scale is 645mm and the nut measures 52mm across.
A wonderful sounding instrument, this Ryer has an open, breathy, and a balanced voice, with excellent definition and pop, and enough warmth to appeal to a someone raised on more traditional nylon string guitars.
With deluxe hardshell case
