Hand built in a small-shop setting in Burlington, Vermont, Iris Guitars offer exceptional tone and playability, vintage-tinged designs and unique detailing, solid tonewoods, and nitrocellulose lacquer finish.
The AB model is a 16” Jumbo that’s styled after Gibson’s iconic 50’s J-185. There are few modern equivalents to that model, and the Iris AB is a wonderful modern rendition. Built with a Sitka top and mahogany back and sides; small rectangle bridge, a light build with scalloped tonebars, and a medium length scale, the AB has lots of power and projection, a warm midrange, and strong treble response.
The small jumbo body looks great with its deco firestripe pickguard, ivoroid bindings and sunburst top finish. With three-on-a-plate Golden Age open geared tuners, and bold Iris headstock logo, the AB model is attractively balanced and features some beautiful lines.
Round neck with a full feeling C carve, 16” fingerboard radius, and a 1-3/4” nut width. Bone nut and saddle, 25” scale, 2-7/32” string spread at the bridge. Katalox fingerboard and bridge.
