Few acoustic guitars are as iconic, timeless, and inspiring as Martin’s D-45. The company’s flagship model, the D-45 features hand-inlayed pearl purflings to every side, around the fingerboard extension, and around the soundhole. Pearl hexagons decorate the ebony fingerboard, and the company’s name is inlayed in pearl in the bound headstock, just as it was in 1940. Martin has always reserved its highest quality tonewoods for its Style 45 guitars, and builds these instruments with forward-positioned scalloped bracing to ensure the best possible tone. Vintage white bindings, gold hardware, pearl-dot bridge pins and bone nut and saddle are standard issue, while the high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish shows the details in beautiful clarity.
The D-45 features a Dreadnought body with 14 fret neck, hand-fit traditional dovetail neck joint, and a comfortable performing artist taper modified oval neck carve. 1-3/4” nut, 25.4” scale, 2-5/32” string spread at the bridge.
