This 600-series Grand Orchestra is a gorgeous creation of figured maple, Sitka spruce, African ebony, and antique blonde finish and adds a striking presence to our Taylor wall at the shop. It’s a big guitar at nearly 17” wide and 5” deep, and is designed to highlight maple’s touch-sensitivity, clarity, power, and balance.
The guitar has a lightning quick response and can handle whatever energy you put into it – from a light fingerstyle to heavy strumming thanks to the subtle compression added by maple and the specially designed V-class bracing. The 618e comes stage-ready with Taylor’s innovative onboard electronics, the Expression System 2.
An exquisitely appointed guitar, the 618e features maple binding with koa purfling, a single-ring rosette of paua bordered by koa, framed mother-of-pearl inlays, and koa-purfled fingerboard and headstock. The antique blond finish has a subtle edgeburst that helps highlight the maple-on-maple purflings, while also bringing your attention to the master-grade tonewoods used in the guitar’s construction.
The neck features a 1-3/4” nut width and a scale of 25.5”, black graphite nut and chrome tuning machines.
