The Collings MT2 is a long neck A-style beauty built with a tone-bar braced red spruce top, highly figured maple back, sides, and neck, tortoise bindings with black and white purflings to every surface, and pearl headstock inlays. It’s nothing short of spectacular, and offers the added bonuses of exceptional tone and the best playability in the biz.
The neck has V carve and compound radiused fretboard with guitar-sized fretwire. The nut width measures 1-1/8”, scale is 13-7/8”, and string spacing at the bridge is 1-9/16”. We’ve upgraded this example with an ebony pickguard that’s bound to match. The tailpiece is cast bronze that’s mirror-finished in nickel plating, the tuners are nickel-plated Gotoh vintage machines with black buttons. Bone nut, ebony adjustable bridge, gloss lacquer finish throughout.
