An exciting new offering from Martin Guitars, the O’ahu HG-28 pays tribute to the Hawaiian music craze of the 1920s that resulted in the development of the modern steel string flat top and the first Dreadnoughts.
A reimagined version of Martin’s 14-fret dreadnought, the HG D-28 features a 14-3/4” wide dreadnought body with a spruce top and koa back and sides. It’s a charming guitar that delivers a warm and rounded response with the perfect amount of clarity and note separation. The dimensions of the body make for an incredibly comfortable guitar that is particularly kind to the shoulder and arm of a player’s rhythm side.
Koa back and sides, Sitka top with scalloped X bracing, ebony fretboard and bridge. Bold herringbone purflings, aged white bindings, bevelled tortoiseshell pickguard, angle-bottomed bone nut, vintage style tuners, and Martin O’ahu logo. 24.9” scale neck with high performance taper, 1-3/4” nut width, 2-5/32 string spacing at the saddle.
