Taylor 812

The Taylor 812 is a fingerstyle guitar of the highest caliber, and one that has long been on our shortlist of favourite fingerstyle guitars. The 2022 Taylor 800 series has been redesigned to be an amalgamation of the Standard and Deluxe models, and now features Taylor’s gorgeous and fabulously comfortable radius arm rest, bound soundhole and pearl rosette, thin finish, and V-Class bracing, of course. The guitar is beautifully appointed with maple bindings that are accented by rosewood, maple, and ebony purflings on the top; maple-bound ebony headstock and fingerboard.

Built with Indian rosewood, Sitka spruce, and a 25” scale, the 812 has a richly textured sound with lush overtones, crisp trebles and a warm low range, articulate enough for fingerstyle play but powerful enough for traditional strumming and flatpicking. It’s quite a remarkable guitar, exceptionally versatile, and fabulously in-tune, too!

Full-feeling neck carve with a C/V carve and 1-3/4” nutwidth. String spread of 2-3/16” at the saddle.
