Martin 00-16E

Martin's redesigned 16 series guitars feature back and sides of Granadillo and a spruce top, gloss-top finish, scalloped bracing, and ebony fingerboard and bridge. They are much more resonant and lively guitars than their predecessors, and like their more expensive standard-series siblings, feature attractive vintage-style appointments and high performance taper necks.

The 00-16E is an exciting instrument for small-body guitar lovers, and comes in answer to the long-standing request for more options in this fabulously versatile body size. Granadillo is a wonderful tonewood, and many builders are now using it as an alternative to rosewood. Like rosewood, Granadillo offers strength and power in the bass register, clarity and note separation through the mids, and a touch of sparkle in the treble range. Combined with this guitar's scalloped-braced spruce top, the 00-16E excels at complex modern fingerstyle just perfectly as it can double as a flatpicking lead guitar.

Equipped with a Fishman Matrix VT Enhance pickup, the 00-16E is stage ready with one of the best sounding OEM pickups on the market.

High Performance taper neck with a modified low oval carve, 1-3/4” nut width and 24.9 scale. Old-style headstock logo, open-geared tuners, and bone nut. The body has parchment-colored binings with b-w-b top purflings, a herringbone-meets-style-18 rosette, and a tortoise-celluoid pickguard.
