Bruce Guitars Letter Series Custom T, Sonic Blue
Micah Bruce is a heavy-hitting guitar builder from Omaha, Nebraska who's instruments are garnering critical acclaim with every review. We’re proud to offer Bruce guitars here at Folkway, and are big fans of this builder’s design ethos, neck carving, finishing skills, and all-around masterful workmanship.
This Bruce Letter Series Custom T features a roasted sugar pine body with a relic Sonic Blue nitrocellulose lacquer finish and Bruce’s trademark floral decal. The neck and fingerboard are quartersawn maple with a vintage toned lacquer finish that’s slightly aged. The neck has a fabulously comfortable asymmetrical V to C carve, heavily rolled edges, and vintage 1-5/8” nut width. It has a deep and rounded feel but plays easily thanks to the well designed carve pattern. Neck depth at the 1st fret is .967” at the 1st fret and .997” at the 12th, and the fretboard is compound radiused from 7.25” to 10”. The fretwire is medium tall, .055” by .090” and offers the best in touch sensitivity and responsiveness. The pickguard is three-ply white that been tastefully aged, and the guitar’s hardware has all been slightly aged to match.
The guitar features Lollar 52T pickups that measure 6.7k and 7.0k, and are wired with a treble bleed cap in place for better tone when the volume is rolled off.
Expect a guitar that offers inspiring acoustic resonance and the best in vintage-style Tele tone. This one weighs in at just over 6.5 lbs.
