1952 was the first year of production for Fender’s Precision Bass – an instrument that revolutionized popular music, and allowed the stage volume increase that helped create rock and roll.

This example, despite being completely refinished and sporting a replacement pickup is an excellent sounding instrument, and has the very unique neck feel of an early P-Bass. With a 1-11/16” wide nut and a deep, round carve, the Precision bass neck was designed to offer upright bass players a feel that was as familiar as possible. The neck depth at the 1st fret is .981”, and the neck tapers to 1.016” at the 12th fret.

Original tuners and string tree, original pickguard, metal hardware, jack cup, neck plate, and screws. The non-original pickup measures a fat 9.16K. The body and neck are original, the oversized ebony nut is not. The bass weighs 9lbs.

Set up here, this Precision plays very nicely and has wonderful tone.
