The Gibson ES-345 was the company’s first Stereo model upon its introduction in 1959. This example, built in 1963, features patent number pickups and a cherry finish and a Bigsby tailpiece that is likely original to the guitar. The original Stereo Varitone wiring harness has been removed and we’ve rewired the guitar in mono, complete with an entirely new wire harness. The neck pickup has had its magnet flipped to allow in-phase middle-switch position tone. The guitar’s original patent number humbuckers sound incredible, and the guitar functions as if it were an ES-335.  We've made a pair of custom brass threaded plugs for the stop tailpiece's mounting holes which can easily be removed should you want to remove the Bigsby and install a stop (both options are shown in the photos).

Original finish and hardware throughout, with the exception of newer saddles in the bridge. The finish shows plenty of lacquer crazing, but no abuse and less than average playwear. There are a couple of dings on the back of the neck, a small chip on the treble-side upper headstock corner, and the lightest of belt wear on the back. There are no neck issues, the truss rod is in good working order, the original nylon nut has never been removed, and the neck angle is good. The original frets play fairly well despite some string wear.

The neck measures 1-21/32” wide (just shy of 1-11/16), is .835” deep at the 1st fret, and measures .884” at the 12th. The guitar weighs 8.6lbs with the Bigsby or 7.8lbs set up with a stop tailpeice. Pickup DC values 7.4 and 7.5K.

With original hardshell case.
