National’s best-selling wood-body resonator is the 14 fret Thunderbox, which offers 14 fret neck access, a comfortably sized 14” body, and very playable neck. Styled after the Trojan – one of National’s most affordable models of the 1930s – the Thunderbox features a mahogany laminate body, slotted headstock, and simple appointments.
This example is in excellent condition and is completely original and unmodified with the exception of an added strap button in the neck heel. Playwear is minimal at most, and the action is set-up for Spanish style playing with an action of 5-7 64ths with 12-54 strings.
