A super-clean mid ‘70s Martin D-35 that’s coming up on its 50th birthday and hiding it really well. Crack free and with barely any playwear to speak of, this D-35 presents beautifully. In its recent past it received a perfectly executed neck reset, compression refret, and a new bone saddle. The pickguard is a replacement as the original likely curled up badly, as is the norm.
Original Grover Rotomatic tuners, original nut, original finish throughout, original unmodified bridge, and original pins. No repairs, but there is a tiny cleat under the pickguard’s inside margin, although no crack is visible.
A great sounding D-35 with plenty of volume and headroom, the huge bass this model is known for, and lots of strength through the mids and highs. Flatpicked or strummed, this D-35 has it going on.
Rounded neck carve with a first fret depth of .828” and a 1-11/16” nut. 25.4” scale, 2-1/8” string spread at the saddle.
