1959 Gibson Les Paul Junior
The ultimate ‘players’ Les Paul Jr, this guitar is completely original but for a home-job refin that looks to have been done many years ago. Amazingly, the pickup and wire harness are original and mostly untouched, except for the solder points that needed to be redone as part of a refinish. Original tuners and nut (the nut hasn’t been out), original frets, pickguard, screws, and bridge. Even the jack plate is original! If you’re after the killer tone and incredible neck feel of an original 1959 double-cut Les Paul Jr and would prefer a 50% discount over a full-priced example with original finish, this guitar is for you. We’re fans of this one.
The neck has a 1959 carve, with a deep, rounded feel and 1-11/16” nut. Neck depth at the 1st fret is .864”, depth at the 12th fret is .973”. The guitar weighs 6.4 lbs, and the P-90 measures a hot 8.52k. The neck angle is excellent, original frets show average wear and play fairly well. The guitar has been set-up in shop.
