Showcasing the company’s most premium tonewoods, elegant appointments and innovative comfort enhancements, the Builder’s Edition 914ce offers sonic complexity and next-level visual aesthetics. At the heart of the 914ce Builder’s Edition is its cutaway Grand Auditorium body built with Indian rosewood back and sides and V-Class braced Lutz spruce top. The Indian rosewood yields deep lows and bright, sparkling treble notes, and bell-like clarity, while the V-braced Lutz spruce top affords the guitar its wide dynamic range, volume, projection and sustain.
The body is finished with Taylor’s proprietary Silent Satin finish that has a smooth, noise-reducing surface. The body’s edges are chamfered for extra comfort, and the beveled armrest and cutaway are noticeable ergonomic enhancements only available on Taylor’s Builder Edition models. Even the fretboard has rolled edges for a more comfortable playing experience.
Mother-of-pearl trimmings to the body’s front and back, peghead, and fretboard. Single-ring paua rosette with an ebony-bound soundhole; koa purflings on the fretboard and peghead. Gotoh 510 tuning machines in antique gold and onboard ES2 electronics.
The neck has Taylor’s standard carve with a 1-3/4” nut width, 25.5” scale, and 2-3/16” string spread at the saddle.
