1981 B.C. Rich Eagle
The first incarnation of the B.C. Rich Eagle was produced from 1975 through 1982. It was a neck-through guitar and was built of a variety of woods, including koa, walnut, mahogany and maple. Featuring a set of DiMarzio pickups, a pre-amp boost, series/parallel wiring, coil splitting, and phase switch capabilities, the Eagle boasted an incredibly wide range of tonal options along with its modern natural-finish solidbody looks.
This B.C. Rich Eagle is built with a maple neck and features showy birds-eye maple and walnut strips laminated together for the body wings. The fretboard and headstock overlay are Indian rosewood, and the guitar was dressed up with a set of Imperial-button Grover Rotomatics. Playability is excellent thanks to a fresh refret with Dunlop 6150 wire, and a setup by our shop. In overall excellent condition, it remains all original except for the frets and a replacement output jack plate.
The guitar’s neck has a rounded C shape with a 60’s Fender-like carve. The nut width measures 1-5/8” and the 1st fret depth is .810”. 12th fret neck depth is .954” and the scale is 24.6”. The pickup DC values are 8.1k and 7.7k; total weight is 9.75lbs.
