The Doc Watson model has been in production for half a century now and has become one of the most iconic guitars in bluegrass. It features a Mahogany and Sitka body with unique half-scalloped, half-tapered X bracing pattern, herringbone top trim, zigzag backs strip, ivoroid bindings and ebony board and bridge.
This example is in excellent and unmodified condition, and nicely set-up. There are a few minor dings and scratches on the body and headstock, but no significant playwear. There is a repaired crack on the back of the guitar which was glued here at our shop.
25-1/4” scale, and 1-3/4” nut width. The neck has a C-shaped carve that feels quite uniform in thickenss up the fretboard. First fret depth is .870”, 9th fret depth measures .920”. Action is currently set at 5-7 64ths.
With hardshell case
