Introduced in 1948 and produced into the 1960s, Gibson's GA-30 offers an entirely unique voice thanks to its pairing of 12" and 8" speakers. The large cabinet design and mismatched speakers allow for a wider frequency spread and a two-peak response curve. Its pair of 6V6 tubes puts out about 16 watts of power.
Built in 1958, this GA-30 remains in excellent cosmetic condition. Equipped with its original transformers, original 12" Jensen P12R speaker, and replacement Tokuden 8" speaker, this amplifier delivers a harmonically rich voice with well-supported clarity and offers beautiful broken-up tones when pushed. The amplifier responds well to just about any pickup you can throw at it, making it an all-around versatile machine.
This amplifier was recently serviced by Toronto's Dom Tantalo. Its filter caps and potentiometers were replaced in a previous servicing. The original 8" Jensen P8R is included with the amplifier, though it does not function properly.
