1969 Gibson SJN

A crazy-clean one-owner late-1960s SJ that’s on the right side of 1969 for a vintage Gibson. The guitar features standard single-X bracing, a full-width 1-11/16” nut, non-volute headstock, and original belly-down adjustable bridge. Apart from an added LR Baggs Lyric pickup, this 1969 Gibson SJN is completely original and unmodified and is even accompanied by its original factory hangtags and case.

The guitar shows very little playwear to its original finish and frets, and has been set-up in our shop. We’ve repaired a top crack along the bass edge of the fretboard extension and another along the inside margin of the pickguard.

Early 1960s neck feel with a 1-11/16” nutwidth and .814” thickness through the 1st fret. The neck thickens nicely to .950” by the 9th fret and has a scale of 25.5”. String spread at the saddle is 2-1/9”. Set up with 12-53 strings and an action of 5-7 64ths.

A touch sensitive dreadnought that offers plenty of warmth and responsiveness under a light touch, this SJN is at home when played fingerstyle or with a pick and medium attack. It’s a great choice for singer-backup, and offers a laid-back playing ease.

With original chipboard case and hangtags.
