A favorite of Folkway’s staff for many years, the Martin 00-18’s size and build make for a guitar that’s small enough to offer stronger trebles and a comfortable playing experience, but remains big enough to retain a lovely bass response and plenty of volume. The 00 size has always been the perfect choice for balanced string response, and for most of the guitar’s evolution was considered the optimal size for concert guitars.
For 2025, Martin revised its standard series specifications, adding GE-style scalloped bracing, an angle-bottomed nut, and a rolled fretboard edge to the ingredient list of their guitars. The 00-18 received all of these modifications and is, as such, subtly different than the company’s 2024 models.
The guitar’s neck has a round carve and a 1-3/4” nut. Scale length is 24.9”, and the strings spread out to 2-5/32” at the bridge. Bone nut and saddle, ebony pins, tortoise celluloid pickguard, gloss lacquer finish.
