Drawing inspiration from the fully hollow P-90-equipped ES-330 guitars of the late 1950s, Collings’ I-30 LC offers a refined take on a classic design with several innovative design elements for improved acoustic tone and versatility.
The I-30 shares the same body dimensions as the company's semi-hollow I-35 but utilizes a trestle-braced fully hollow body construction as opposed to a centre block. The result is a very lightweight and acoustically responsive thinline electric that has excellent focus, feedback resistance, and a dynamic, touch-sensitive response.
Equipped with a pair of Lollar P-90s, this guitar offers a full-bodied and airy voice with excellent note separation, harmonic content, and power.
This 2022 Collings I-30 LC was custom-ordered with a '60s neck profile and an aged finish and hardware package. The Tobacco Sunburst finish over a heavily figured maple body is absolutely stunning. With Collings’ meticulous attention to detail the fit and finish of this guitar is remarkable. The instrument presents in almost-new condition with perfect frets and close to no visible finish wear except, in the right light, a touch of pickwear on the pickguard.
Scale length of 24-7/8". First first fret depth of 0.828", twelfth fret depth of 0.919", and a 1-11/16" nut width. Weight of 5lbs 6oz. Pickup DC resistance measurements of 9.3K (bridge) and 7.7K (neck).
