A near mint example of a Fender guitar built when the Corona factory was in its infancy, this 1987 Fender Stratocaster is about as close to a new-old-stock '80s Fender guitar that one can find.

While the Stratocaster has changed minimally from its inception in 1954 into the modern era, the 1987 American Standard has made its mark on many recent Fender builds as it was the first Stratocaster to employ a 22nd fret. 1987 also saw the introduction of the stacked TBX tone pot on the American Standard Stratocaster.

This all-original 1987 Fender Stratocaster presents beautifully, boasting an attractive and remarkably clean Olympic White finish. Light scratches on the pickguard and minor tarnishing to some of the chrome hardware are the only signs to be found of the instrument's age. The original frets show very little use and play cleanly across the fingerboard.

Sporting a trio of original Alnico V pickups wired to a 5-way switch, this guitar offers classic Stratocaster tone with excellent clarity, bite, and note separation. With the TBX tone pot fully open the bridge pickup delivers incredible sparkle and chime, with more traditional tones achieved with the pot set between 0-5. This Strat has a comfortable C neck carve with a 1-5/8" nut width and plenty of shoulder. It measures 0.81" deep and the 1st fret and 0.86" at the 12th.

 25.5" scale length. Fingerboard radius of 9.5". Weight of 7lbs 15oz. Pickup DC values of 6.1K (n), 5.9k (m), and 6.0 (b).
