An exciting "Player's-Grade" Telecaster with all of the mojo one looks to find in a vintage guitar, this 1969 Telecaster Thinline offers authentic ‘60s Fender tone, feel, and vibe for less than the price of a Custom Shop guitar.
The two original pickups sound absolutely superb, offering wonderfully rich and thick Tele tones with excellent clarity and bite in the bridge position, complimented by a warm, airy, articulate response from the neck. The guitar has been rewired with 250k pots (one original 1meg pot in case pocket), giving the guitar a voice that is more in line with a pre-CBS Telecaster. The neck’s full shouldered, rounded carve and recent frets add up to beautiful feel and excellent playability; and, weighing a mere 5lbs 15oz, this Telecaster is also incredibly easy on the shoulder. All told, this a the perfect instrument to bring out on tour or to your local weekend club gig.
The body of this guitar boasts a convincing old refinish that does not detract from the vintage aesthetic of the instrument. The neck finish remains original; however, the fingerboard was oversprayed with a previous refret. The original bridge pickup was rewound (reportedly by Lindy Fralin) roughly a decade past, though we can’t verify this. The switch tip is replaced.
25.5" scale length. First fret depth of 0.863", twelfth fret depth of 0.934" and a 1-5/8" Nut width. Pickup dc values of 7.34k (n), 5.9k (m), and 6.9k (b).
With 1970s Fender hardshell case
