2020 Collings 0002H
This Collings 0002H is a 12-fret model inspired by Martin’s 000-28s from the late 1920s. It features a 15” wide lower bout, long 25.5” scale, and contemporary feeling neck carve with a nut width of 1-13/16”. An exceptional sounding instrument that offers a strong fundamental, beautiful string balance, strength through the bass and lower mids, and a piano-like clarity. It’s incredibly versatile and is equally well suited to a heavy flat-pick as it is to fingerstyle.
This example is in excellent condition with minimal playwear and a fresh fingerstyle setup care of our shop. The frets show light use, a K&K pure pickup has been mounted on the bridgeplate and a strap-button installed on the neck heel.
Sitka spruce top with scalloped bracing, exquisite Indian rosewood back and sides, ebony fretboard and pyramid bridge. Herringbone top trim and zigzag back strip, ivoroid bindings, and late 1920s style ivoroid, maple, and ebony rosette. Gloss finish throughout, bone nut and saddle, Waverly tuning machines, unslotted ebony bridge pins, and pearl accents.
The neck has a very comfortable soft V carve with a 1st fret thickness of .871”.
With original hardshell case.
