Sadly, Waterloo guitars have become something of a rarity in the post-Covid guitarosphere, and we don’t see many pre-owned ones coming through with any regularity. This 2019 WL-14 LTR Aged is a sight for sore eyes, with its gorgeous sunburst finish and tastefully aged top. It’s in great shape and shows less-than-average playwear; there’s just some glossing-up of the satin finish to report on.
This is a ladder-braced model, built with the larger V-shaped neck option and truss-rod. It’s a wonderful sounding guitar that offers a really thick and chewy treble string response and a strong midrange that lends itself perfectly to melodic flatpicking or a heavy fingerstyle approach.
Mahogany back and spruce body with bound top and satin finish. Chunky V neck carve with a 1-3/4” nut, 1st fret depth of .976”, 24-7/8” scale and 2-5/16” string spread at the saddle makes for a distinctly vintage feel. Ebony nut and bone saddle, open-geared three-on-a-plate-tuners.
Set up in our shop with 4-5/64ths action.
