The largest guitar in the Collings / Waterloo lineup, the Jumbo King is roughly styled after the Regal-built Tonk-era Washburn Jumbos of the late 1930s and early 1940s, but is tonally more akin to the three-bar Gibson J-35s built between ’36 and ’39. The WL-JK Jumbo King offers a whole lot of volume, headroom, and mid-range punch by design, and this rosewood model adds in the note separation, horsepower, clarity, and bass presence that the mahogany versions can’t deliver. It’s a responsive and fast guitar and is among the loudest flat-pickers you’ll play. The guitar features a straight X-braced, two-tonebar Carpathian spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides, and a deep body that measures nearly 5” at the endpin and 4” at the neck.

The Waterloo Jumbo King is equipped with a big V neck that harkens the Washburn/Regal jumbos of the late 1930s. The nut measures 1-3/4” and the 1st fret neck depth is .965”, so definitely expect a ‘vintage’ feel. String spread at the saddle is 2-5/16”, and the scale is 25.5”.

Sunburst finished top with cream binding, tortoise pickguard and herringbone rosette, ebony rectangle bridge with drop-in bone saddle, rosewood fingerboard, bone nut, vintage style tuning machines, satin lacquer finish.

The guitar is in excellent condition and has been set up in our shop. There is light wear to the first few frets and some shining-up of the finish on the back of the neck and below the pickguard from use. No cracks, repairs, issues, or modifications other than an enlarged endpin hole from a pickup jack that’s been removed.

With original hardshell case.
